How the Spill Proof Bowl system works:

The bowl consists of three sturdy molded polycarbonate pieces which snap together with a positive locking seal.

The bowls unique three-part construction creates two chambers for water supply: the funnel-shaped drinking chamber, which allows pets access to a constantly-replenishing supply of liquid, and the containment chamber, which houses a generous supply of water.

The containment chamber is enclosed on all sides, and will not spill its water even if the bowl is turned upside-down.

An opening at the bottom of the funnel-shaped Drinking Chamber allows water in to replenish the drinking supply from the Supply Chamber.

A gravity-activated valve near top of funnel piece allows air into the Supply Chamber as water is depleted, but closes when the bowl is upside-down, preventing water from the supply chamber from exiting.
